The winter winds may have been biting, but nothing could chill the warmth between Sheldon & Amy during our latest session together in Wascana Park. It had been a joy to photograph their engagement in 2021, celebrate their wedding later that year, and reconnect during their cozy fall session in 2023. Now, catching up with these two on a brisk January day reminded us why they hold such a special place in our hearts.
As Amy & Sheldon had come in from out of town, we knew we would forge ahead with the session regardless of the weather. At first glance, the weather had seemed to warm in comparison to the days previous, but as we strolled through Wascana Park, that wind was biting. But Sheldon & Amy were unshaken. Bundled up in cozy layers, and not that they needed a reason, but they used the chilly gusts as permission to cuddle in just a little bit closer together.
It is such an honour to photograph these two as we can see the deep love and connection in every look and in how they treat one another. The session felt like a continuation of their story—a love story defined not just by big milestones but by the little moments of perseverance and joy. Amy’s radiant smile and Sheldon’s steady presence reminded us that love thrives when it’s nurtured with intentional care.
We love the willingness of all our couples to embrace these sessions and follow our prompts. It didn’t take much convincing when we asked Amy & Sheldon to dance at Speakers’ Corner. As the wind swirled around them, they shared a quiet dance on a snowy pathway. Watching them sway together against the wintry backdrop, it was easy to see how deeply they care for one another. Their connection is both tender and joyful, and it shines brightest in moments like these. Sheldon even through a prompt of his own, as he gave Amy “the most Canadian kiss,” whereby her face was almost entirely hidden underneath his mitts! That gave us all a very hearty giggle!
Sheldon & Amy, thank you for inviting us to capture yet another chapter in your story. Your kindness, authenticity, and unwavering love are such a blessing not only to us, but certainly to those fortunate enough to be in your inner circle. Thank you for weathering those cold Saskatchewan winds with us and “freezing” these moments in time. May your love remain as steadfast and warm as it was on this chilly winter day!
xoxo
Cam & Courtney
