We have had the pleasure of capturing some special memories for Scott & Ashley for the last couple of years. But we have never had the chance to shoot with them in the snow! We first shot their spring engagement in 2018 and then we got to shoot their fall wedding. Last year, we caught up with them and wandered through the Cathedral Village as we joined in celebrating their first wedding anniversary.

When Ashley reached out to us to book photos for this year, we planned to do the session in their home. Over the last couple of years, they have been working away on projects to make it “theirs” and wanted to capture that with photos. As with most of our other 2020 events, COVID cramped those plans a little… So we pivoted and did the photos outside instead!

While it wasn’t what we planned, it was a fun challenge to wander through their neighbourhood to find locations to use! For being self-proclaimed “not winter people”, Scott & Ashley braved it out with us, to take some beautiful winter photos in the fog. Their neighbours even turned on their lights so we could grab a few to celebrate the season!

Scott & Ashley, it was so good to see you and catch up on life, even in the strangeness that is the world today! We are very thankful that we were able to get together and try out something new. Who knows, maybe neighbourhood sessions will become our new “thing!” The only hope we have is that our next session will be just a touch warmer!
