One of our FAVOURITE things is catching up with our past couples and last week we had the opportunity to do just that. We met up with Adam & Sarah Filby in Wascana Park to not only catch up with them but to meet their newest addition – sweet, little Isla! It was last year that we got to photograph their engagement and then in July of last year, their beautiful backyard wedding. How fast has that year flown?!

It is always so fun to see how our couples have both grown and changed, and yet are the exact same amazing people that they have always been. Even better, is to now see them as parents. Becoming a new parent is always a bit of a transition that comes with many joys but also many struggles and changes. The Filby’s have adapted like complete champs.

Seeing both Mr. & Mrs. Filby as parents brings our own hearts so much joy. You can see and feel the love that they have for Isla. It is almost hard to imagine life before she came along – they are just such natural parents.

And seriously, this kid is the CUTEST!!!! The looks and expressions she gives are priceless. Her wide eyes, her uncertain looks when we got “too close” and those laughs!!! Melt my heart!!! She is so camera-aware and so darn adorable. We just can’t get enough!

Even the Filby’s dog, Atlas, made an appearance at the beginning of our session. Atlas has taken it upon himself to become Isla’s own personal protector and best buddy. Some dogs have a tough transition when a new tiny human arrives in their home, but Atlas has embraced it and is so gentle with Isla!

Adam and Sarah, you have made one beautiful baby! I’m sure you know that, but it doesn’t hurt to hear it from others. She is practically perfect in every way and we are so thrilled for you! Thank you for entrusting us to capture your growing family and document this amazing gift in your lives. It is not only our pleasure but also our humble honour to meet your little princess. Keep up the great work! You are amazing parents and we love you!!!
