In life, there are some people you meet and you just have an instant bond with them. The first time we met with Brett & Rachelle that is exactly how we felt! We share an appreciation, nay, admiration of ice cream- Brett actually owns & operates Sweet Tooth Rolled Ice Cream in Regina. As the night went on, we bonded over our shared love of macarons, Disney, and travel. In some ways, I’d say it was a client/photographer version of ‘love at first sight’! We even learned that they had made a trip to Disneyland- just weeks after we traveled there with our own family! They say, “when you know, you know”, and yup, this was totally meant to be!

They traveled to Los Angeles for a vacation in December 2018. Little did Rachelle know, but Brett had plans to make it an even HAPPIER version of the happiest place on earth! They spent the day at Disneyland, and as they walked, Brett planned out where he might pop the question. He settled on proposing in front of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle in the center of the park. Much to his disappointment, construction had just started to begin the refurbishment of the castle, so it was barely visible behind the construction partitions.

While not what he had planned, Brett pivoted and decided that they should get a caricature of them done. So they sat for the drawing, but by the time they finished, Rachelle was so hungry and insisted they find sustenance instead. (Same, girl! Hanger is a very real emotion in our house!) The day at Disneyland, while absolutely magical, didn’t end with the extra sparkle as Brett had planned.

The next day, Brett & Rachelle decided to take a hiking tour up to the iconic Hollywood sign. They hiked up through the Santa Monica Mountains, taking in the views of downtown Los Angeles and marveling at the sign as it grew larger and larger. As they walked, Brett saw his window and took his shot. Overlooking the view, he got down on one knee and proposed to Rachelle. So magical!

Brett & Rachelle, we have loved the time we’ve gotten to spend with you. Even throughout your engagement session, as we were all being eaten alive by seemingly millions of flies, you kept smiling and didn’t let anything phase you! And oh my goodness, you both looked absolutely flawless doing it! We cannot wait to celebrate your 2021 wedding with you!!!
