There’s something special about traditions. They ground us, create lasting memories, and, for us, they bring back familiar faces each year, like reuniting with old friends. Scott & Ashley are one of those couples for us. It’s been six years since they said, “I do!” and since then, they’ve become a beautiful reminder of what it means to fall in love over and over again. This year, we chose one of our favourite spots to capture their annual session—the CBC Building and Provincial Archive. With its mix of textures, historic charm, and modern vibes, it was the perfect backdrop for a couple whose love story only grows richer with time.

Our sessions with Scott & Ashley are always filled with warmth and laughter. There’s an ease to their connection that has only deepened over the years, a quiet confidence in one another that’s evident in every glance, every gentle squeeze of the hand. Scott is forever attentive to Ashley, and her face lights up whenever he looks her way. And after all these years of working with them, we can confidently say that they’re two of the sweetest, most genuine people we’ve had the privilege of photographing.

Scott & Ashley have a unique way of turning an ordinary moment into something magical. As we moved through different spots, we suggested they stand close, lean into each other, and talk quietly to each other. Instantly, they slipped into a world of their own, quietly exchanging words we couldn’t hear but could feel in the way they smiled, laughed or comforted each other. One of the things we love about photographing Scott & Ashley is how effortlessly they bring out the best in each other. It doesn’t matter what they’re doing—whether it’s a simple walk or just holding hands, they’re constantly in tune, creating moments that look and feel as genuine as they are.

One of the most endearing parts of each session with Scott & Ashley is how they remind us of what a true partnership looks like. They’re each other’s biggest cheerleaders, always lifting each other up, laughing together, and moving through life with a shared sense of purpose. Watching them, we’re reminded of the beauty that comes from building a life with someone who is not just a spouse but a best friend.
