There’s something so special about watching families grow, and with the Filby family, it feels like we’ve been along for the entire journey! This year’s fall session in Wascana View Park felt especially meaningful as this was our first full session with their newest addition, Oliver! Since we last photographed them, Oliver’s arrival has turned this loving trio into the fantastic four!

The warm, golden fall foliage was the perfect backdrop for this session. We always have the best time with the Filby family. Now, with Oliver here, it was heartwarming to see the interactions between the family members, especially how Isla has stepped into her new role as big sister with so much joy and pride.

Isla, as always, was full of energy and personality. She’s grown so much since last year, but her same adventurous spirit remains! She ran around the park, leading the way with her boundless enthusiasm. Oliver is the perfect balance to Isla’s energy— calm, cautious, yet content in his parents’ arms, soaking up the world around him. He is still carefully figuring out this whole crazy world around him.

Adam & Sarah’s love for their children shines through in every moment we spend with them. Their connection is undeniable, and they make parenting look effortless. As they took turns holding Oliver, it was clear that their bond as a couple has only deepened since becoming parents. We couldn’t help but sneak a few moments to capture just the two of them, reflecting on how much their family has grown and the beautiful future they have ahead.

Atlas, their loyal companion, was as much a part of the session as he was in the past. While he’s now sharing the spotlight with Oliver, his bond with Isla hasn’t changed. Isla makes sure to let Atlas know who is boss and is always an eager helper by walking him as well.

It’s sessions like these that remind us why we love what we do. Capturing the evolution of a family is an incredible honour. From Isla’s toddler days to Oliver’s first fall, we’re lucky to be part of these moments and witness the love and joy that this family shares.

Adam, Sarah, Isla, and Oliver (and of course Atlas!)—thank you for continuing to trust us with your memories. Watching your family grow has been such a privilege, and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for you all. Your warmth, love, and laughter are infectious, and we’re already looking forward to the next time we get to catch up with you!
