There’s something incredibly special about getting to watch a family grow over the years—moments that began with family sessions, and then, before we know it, we’re capturing grad portraits! This is the case for Isabelle. It’s one of the greatest privileges of this job. We’ve had the joy of photographing the Schoenroth family a few times over the years, and this spring, we had the honour of celebrating Isabelle’s graduation from Dr. Martin Leboldus High School.
Isabelle is everything you’d hope for in a high school graduate—bright, kind, driven, and full of heart. She carries herself with a quiet confidence and grace that extends far beyond her age, and it was an absolute delight to document this exciting season of her life.
With all the smoke that was going on in the city, we decided to start Isabelle’s grad session at Dutch Growers. Honestly, we could not have asked for a more perfect spot to kick things off. The lush greenery, beautiful blooms, and filtered light through the greenhouse roof created the dreamiest atmosphere for photos. Isabelle walked in wearing the most stunning gown from Newline Fashions, and the moment she stepped into the garden center, she turned heads everywhere we went. The delicate flow and shimmer of her dress among the plant-lined pathways gave us endless inspiration.
What stood out most during this portion of the session was how natural Isabelle is in front of the camera. There was no need for over-posing or big direction—she brought her whole self into the moment, and it showed. She laughed, she glowed, and she owned every single shot.
After Dutch Growers, we headed to a classic Regina backdrop—the Legislative Building. It’s always a timeless setting, but with Isabelle there in her gorgeous gown, it felt all the more regal. The way her dress caught the light as it poured across the steps and stonework. It was everything we love about this kind of session. We took time to photograph by the Legislative building itself and then paused for a few minutes at the Trafalgar Fountain.
Graduation always brings a beautiful tension- an ending and a new beginning held in the same breath. High school years are full of transformation, growth, and learning about who you are. Isabelle is stepping into this next chapter with so much grace. This fall, she plans to begin her post-secondary studies, working on her pre-Occupational Therapy pathway, which feels like a perfect reflection of who Isabelle is. Someone with a deep care for others, a patient spirit, and a desire to help people find healing and independence. We have no doubt she’ll bring that same dedication and quiet strength to her university years and beyond.
We would also be remiss if we did not mention how incredible the Schoenroth family is. Every time we photograph them, we leave with full hearts. There’s so much love, encouragement, and goofiness in this crew, and seeing them rally around Isabelle during this milestone made everything that much more meaningful.
Isabelle, we hope you know just how proud your village of people is of you! You’ve worked so hard to get to this moment, and it’s clear that your future is incredibly bright. Whether you’re diving into textbooks, making new friends, or helping patients regain strength someday, we know you’ll strive to do it with your whole heart. Your session was filled with beauty, not just the dress, flowers or the glowing sunlight, but from the genuine joy and kindness you radiate. We hope you carry that with you on the journey ahead.
Congratulations again, Isabelle! The world is waiting, and we’re cheering you on every step of the way!
xoxo
