When Trevor & Kim started dating their original plan was to go to The Lancaster Taphouse, but when it was too busy they decided to pivot and go to Starbucks and go for a walk. Despite the evening going well, after this date their relationship moved into the “friend zone” – a zone we are very familiar with ourselves! This period in their relationship didn’t last too long though, as weeks later they were dating again and the rest, as they say, is history.

We are suckers for a good proposal story, and this one gets us right in the feels. On the week of Kim’s birthday, they were supposed to go to Kim’s mom’s seasonal camping spot at Good Spirit Lake, but unfortunately, the weather wasn’t very nice for the week. Nearing the end of the week, as the weather turned around, they decided to make the trip.

To celebrate Kim’s birthday, Trevor had a rather large birthday present for her. As Kim opened the box she was surprised by many items including a camp cooler, a Schitt’s Creek bag, a colouring book, an Aero S’mores Kit, and other small items – mostly to help fill up the box.

At the bottom of the box was a special collage picture frame. This frame had been in Kim’s home and had contained photos of her travels to Europe. Trevor & Kim had discussed the idea of filling the frame with photos of them and hanging it up in their house. Trevor had gone ahead and done that – filling the frame with photos of the two of them and one very special frame with the words “Will you marry me?” written on it. As Kim’s gaze moved from the present to Trevor, he was down on one knee with the ring.

To make it even better, Kim’s mom thinking it was just a present, was taking Live Photos of the entire thing. Even when he was on one knee, she had just thought he had fallen but kept taking the photos, which they were then able to stitch together to make a video capturing their beautiful engagement.

We had such a great time photographing Kim & Trevor! We love when we get to incorporate meaningful props or pets in our photo sessions. It makes it so unique! For Kim & Trevor, we got to meet their precious chihuahua Sadie and even incorporated some Starbucks cups as a nod to their first date. Trevor & Kim, thank you for being so much fun and for laughing and adventuring with us through the Wascana Centre Habitat Conservation Area. Sessions like yours are so easy and relaxing – making our job super easy! We cannot wait to celebrate with you at your June 2022 wedding!!!
