When Natashia first contacted us, she told us about how their family gets new photos taken every year. And this isn’t in a just “grin & bear it” kind of fashion either. The Schoenroth family LOOKS FORWARD to getting their photos done each year! Wow, let me tell you, that was music to our photographer’s ears! Usually, their family friend captures these annual sessions for them, but unfortunately, she wouldn’t be able to come to Regina this year. While they were very sad that they won’t get that special time to catch up, we were honoured to capture their family images for 2021.
As this family is always keen to find a new adventure, we took the Schoenroth family to explore the Cathedral Village. With its unique buildings, murals, and overall atmosphere, the Cathedral Village proved to be the perfect backdrop for this fun-loving family. We took the opportunity to wander this area, enjoying the unique culture that it has to offer! Because they do family photos each year, they have some that have become a tradition. We were happy to continue their tradition of photographing their growing feet! Isn’t this such a cool way to visually measure the growth of their three children year after year?!
As parents ourselves, we know how unique each child is. Just as no two snowflakes are the same, I can also confidently say that no two children are the same. Honestly, this is one of the things we love most about shooting with other families! Being able to observe each child’s personality shine through in their own way is such a joy and a privilege. These three were so full of laughter, some top-notch jokes (that may or may not have been borrowed from dad), and just the right amount of spice to keep mom & dad on their toes.
Kent & Natashia celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary just a couple of days before our session. When we asked what the part of their day was that they will never forget, Kent answered, “the 30 minutes scheduled for spontaneity”. They decided to use it to grab Slurpees at 7-11, and also to pick up some medication for their flower girl, who was unfortunately sick! Another option they considered was water guns, but they decided against it. Wedding couples, take note- just imagine what 30 minutes of spontaneity could look like in your day!!!

We are so glad that we got to spend time with you, exploring something new in our own city! Congratulations again, Kent & Natashia, on recently celebrating your 22nd wedding anniversary!
