There is something very heartwarming about in-home sessions. When we had the opportunity to catch up with the Munroe family in their new home, we were so excited! But it hadn’t been the original plan… We were planning to do the session in their new backyard, but the good ole Saskatchewan weather had other plans for the day… With crazy wind gusts, rain, and very frigid temps, it just wasn’t going to work with a 4-month-old (or for us older folks too), so we pivoted indoors.
Trevor & Kim invited us in to be part of their ever-evolving story. This time, their story includes their new and utterly adorable addition, their 4-month-old son, Maverick. With their watchful sidekick dog, Sadie, by their side, this family is nothing short of picture-perfect!
Their welcoming new home provided the ideal backdrop for this family session. Maverick is a bundle of joy, full of curiosity and wonder. This boy is all smiles- until the camera is on him, then he occasionally pretends to be very serious. Easily remedied by mommy’s silly sounds or his favourite teething toy!
Sadie, the Munroe family’s furriest member, played an essential role in the day’s proceedings. She was the unofficial guardian of the household, a protector, and a source of unconditional love. Her loyalty and playful antics added an extra layer of charm to the session, emphasizing that pets are just as much family as humans.
Our cameras were quick to capture the natural, candid moments that unfolded. Kim gently cradled Maverick, whispering sweet nothings into his ear, and Trevor couldn’t resist planting kisses on the baby’s forehead. There was an unspoken connection between the three of them, a bond that went beyond words.
As the session continued, we moved into Maverick’s nursery. The room was clearly a labour of love in all of the adorable dinosaur details. The mobile above the crib, the cozy rocking chair where Kim has spent countless hours cuddling Maverick, and the wall of books all added a personal touch to the room. And, what Maverick could be without their Goose? Good thing his uncle got him his own! From his crib, Maverick’s big, bright eyes surveyed his surroundings, and it was almost as if he knew he was the center of attention.
Munroe family, we are so thankful to have been invited into your home, and over the last years, your hearts. Your story is a testament to the power of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds that bring families together. We’re excited to see Maverick continue to grow and change in the years to come coming years, and we look forward to being part of your journey again!
xoxo
