Returning to the Wascana Habitat Conservation Area for the Munroe family session felt like revisiting a previous chapter in their love story with a beautiful new addition. We had the pleasure of photographing Trevor & Kim’s engagement session here just three short years ago with their loyal dog Sadie, and now, with their son Maverick, their family has grown in both size and joy!

This session was full of nostalgia, but also an exciting look at their new adventure together as parents. Maverick, who has grown so much since we last saw him, brought an endless supply of smiles and energy to the session. He’s got that perfect mix of curiosity and charm—always eager to explore but quick to light up when interacting with his mom and dad. His laughter was infectious, and that smile – boy, it could melt every heart in the room!

The Habitat provided a stunning backdrop for this session, just like it did during their engagement shoot. Trevor & Kim have such an effortless connection, and seeing how that has translated into their roles as parents was heartwarming. Trevor has a calm, steady presence, and you can see how much Maverick already looks up to him, even at such a young age.

This is a family that loves to laugh. All three of them filled the Habitat with so much joy and laughter! That kind of joy is such a beautiful thing to witness. It’s these kinds of moments that remind us why we love family sessions so much—capturing the bond between parents and their children in the most natural, joyful way.

Kim, with her gentle nature and nurturing presence, has such a sweet connection with Maverick. We captured some beautiful moments of them together, as Kim held him close, or when they walked hand in hand. These moments, while small, turn into those memories one will never forget.

And we can’t forget Sadie! She’s still very much an integral part of the family, and we love how Trevor & Kim always want to include her in the photo session. She is such a sweet dog and you can tell that Maverick adores her too!

As the session progressed, we moved through the Habitat, each space offering new perspectives and beautiful natural backdrops. The evening sunlight was perfect, casting a golden glow over Trevor, Kim, and Maverick. There’s something so magical about that golden hour light, and it added such a warm, ethereal feel to the photos.

By the end of the session, Maverick had clearly had his fill of adventure for the day, but his little smile never wavered. He was such a rock star – and was only working with a one-hour nap! He was the true champ of the day.

Munroe family—thank you so much for letting us be part of your journey once again. It’s been an absolute pleasure to see your family grow and to capture these moments that we know will become cherished memories. Your love for each other is so evident, and it is an honour to document each chapter in your lives. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for your family and look forward to capturing more of your special moments in the years to come!
