Our feet carry us on all kinds of adventures. They can lead you toward something or someone new. When someone graduates, their feet walk them across the stage to acknowledge the culmination of their accomplishment. When we find true love, some say people fall “head over heels”. I would say that Luke & Tori fell head over heels, and that led us here.

 

On her wedding day, Tori donned her red Chuck Taylor sneakers, and her feet walked her toward the love of her life. Luke anxiously waited at the end of the aisle to catch a glimpse of his beautiful bride. The glass doors swung open and out stepped Tori. Arm-in-arm with her father, Tori made her way down the aisle, as her red sneakers peeked out with each step. These sneakers were not merely a fashion statement. More importantly, the red sneakers honoured the memory of Tori’s best friend, who left this earth far too soon. With each step she took toward Luke, Tori’s best friend walked her through the wedding day. It was such a beautiful tribute.

 

Bridal parties are made up of people who have made an impact in our life, those guys and girls that you can’t imagine getting married without and you must have them involved. Luke & Tori had an incredible group of guys and one girl to stand up next to them. This wedding was unique, in that the bride had men standing up with her. However, I can honestly say that this was the fiercest squad of “Bride’s Boys”, as we affectionately coined them. Never have I seen a group of men so concerned about keeping the bride’s dress clean or keeping an eye on the whereabouts of her flowers. These guys were the real deal!

 

Luke & Tori are both pilots, so there were flying references sprinkled throughout the elements of their day. We had the opportunity to stop by the Regina Flying Club to do some of their bridal party portraits. Having known the majority of their wedding party through Cadets, this was a perfect location for Luke & Tori! For their wedding favours they even had personalized little pilot’s wing pins for each guest! How adorable is that?! The reception was made complete with a kiss list- outlining the options you had in order to get the couple to smooch. One of which, titled “The Wingman”, was singing “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” from Top Gun. You’ll never believe it- the Bride’s Boys stepped up, and not only sang the song but acted out the entire scene! It was fantastic!

 

Luke & Tori, thank you for inviting Cam & I to capture your day! We loved every moment that we were able to spend with you. Please know that we are cheering for you as you begin your greatest adventure together- marriage! Marriage is such an incredible blessing, and we are SO excited for all that the future holds for you! We wish you a lifetime of adventure together- I hope you are enjoying your first adventure as husband and wife on your cross Canada honeymoon!
