Andrew & Stephanie Wedding

Aug 9, 2018 | Blog, Wedding

The morning of a wedding is busy. Typically, the bride and bridesmaids get ready early that morning. Hair and make-up are in full swing, making the minor tweaks that need to happen as they go. The dresses are hung and are being steamed. Flowers are picked up from the florist, and are carefully put in vases until they’re needed. There is a possibility that some last-minute preparations are made at the ceremony or reception venues. When we arrive to the bride’s prep location, there is typically a flurry of activity as everyone hurriedly gets ready. The scene was a little different when we walked into Andrew & Stephanie’s house the morning of the wedding.

When I arrived, Stephanie and her bridesmaids had finished their hair and make-up. They were relaxing together, just waiting to get into their dresses. Stephanie literally vibrated with excitement, bouncing around the room. Her day began at 3:30 AM because she was just TOO excited to get up and get the day started. She danced with excitement around the kitchen, occasionally glancing at the time. With every look at the clock, I could see her wishing that time would speed up. To occupy her mind, Andrew had written Stephanie a letter to read the morning of the wedding. She sat, reading it over, as tears welled up in her eyes. When she finished, she paused to show me her favourite part- where Andrew signed the bottom from “Your husband”.

The time finally came, and Stephanie got into her gorgeous customized wedding dress. She looked like an angel as she floated down the stairs under layers of chiffon and lace. Her dad came to the house, and waited in the backyard to catch his first glimpse of his daughter. Stephanie walked through the patio doors, as he slowly turned around. Her father’s face lit up with pride and joy at the sight of his radiant daughter. His precious little girl was now a beautiful bride. They hugged tightly, as he whispered in her ear and they shared a few happy tears. It was a moment that little girls dream of having on their wedding day.

Andrew stood at the end of the aisle at The Artesian theatre. He and his best man exchanged excited, nervous smiles, as the doors swung open. With light streaming in behind her, Stephanie and her father stepped into the room. Andrew locked eyes with her, and the emotion took over. Both of their eyes filled with tears with each step that brought Stephanie closer. Once she reached the stage, Andrew walked down to meet Stephanie and her father, but he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. After he helped her up the stairs, Stephanie couldn’t help but grab Andrew in the biggest hug. Each mention of husband and wife brought smiles and even some small jumps for joy. They made their vows to one another, and after he kissed his bride, Andrew led Stephanie dancing down the aisle, to their awaiting Mustang.

Andrew & Stephanie, Cam & I absolutely love every time we get to see you guys. We had so much fun with you and your awesome bridal party! You are both so much fun to be around, and the laughing never ends! Much like the puzzles you do together, you are the perfect fit for each other. I’m so glad that the first date worked out- even after the Christmas tree setup debacle. :) Never lose the joy and love that you share for one another. Keep laughing together, even in the face of the challenges life will present. Continue taking frequent Milky Way dates, as those are the best types of dates anyone could have! Cam & I hope you had the best time on your honeymoon- we can’t wait to catch up soon!

xoxo
