“Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge.”
I’m sure by now that everyone knows the 5 Ds of Dodgeball, but what you might not know is that it is a great way to meet people, potentially even that special someone. Or at least that’s what happened for Mitch & Val! They met through their local dodgeball league and later ended up playing in the same volleyball league too. They continued hanging out with the dodgeball crew and it was only a matter of time before it grew into something more than a shared love of dodgeball…
When they started dating, a Ring Pop made its first appearance on Valentine’s Day. Val gave Mitch a red Ring Pop and asked him if he wanted to go steady. Years later, on their fifth anniversary, Mitch decided that it was time to pop the question. The only hiccup being that a global pandemic had begun, bringing in an unexpected challenge- delay of the engagement ring. So being the romantic he is, Mitch got down on one knee and proposed with that same Ring Pop. How perfect is that?!
This past week we got the opportunity to capture these two at one of our favourite outdoor locations – the Habitat Conservation Area at Wascana Centre! Often our couples begin the session feeling a little anxious and nervous about getting their photos taken, but seriously, how amazing are these two! They were complete naturals in front of the camera and on top of that, they are natural gigglers which is our favourite! It makes for such joyful photos – and these two brought ALL the joy!!!
Mitch & Val, thank you for trekking through the habitat area with us and for making our job so easy! We had so much fun with you both and cannot wait to celebrate and capture your August 2022 wedding!
xoxo
