We love the Popescu family! Joel has been Cam’s bestie since they were little weirdos roaming the playground. A couple years ago, we met Heather, as her and Joel fell in love. Last summer, we had the pleasure of celebrating with them as they got married. Heather’s family is of Norwegian ancestry, so at the wedding they included a Kransekake. If you’ve never seen one, a Kransekake is a cookie type cake made up of several ringed layers. It is tradition for the bride and groom to place their hands on the top layer of the cake, and lift it up. The number of cake rings that are left in their hands is supposed to indicate the number of children they will have. Welllllll… Heather & Joel picked up the ENTIRE CAKE- I believe that was 18 layers! I will never forget the looks on their faces! But because they take Scandinavian tradition verrry seriously, this spring they welcomed beautiful little Heidi into their family!
Fall has been a bit fickle this year, so we were thankful to do this session before the snow showed up! The sun even made a little appearance, which always makes me reaaallly happy. Heidi is the smiliest little girl, but no matter what crazy antics we tried, she smiled only a couple times. She was so content throughout the entire session, and even without a smile, those cheeks- ahhhhh! Like, insanely adorable!
Popescu family, thank you for trusting us to capture your precious memories as a family! I cannot wait to meet the other 17 children to come after Heidi… *wink* :)
