Wedding mornings can be stressful for a variety of reasons. You plan so long and hard for this day and it has finally arrived. There is a mix of nerves and the desire for it to be as perfect as it can be. Sometimes there are last-minute details yet to come together, and the hope that everything turns out just how you had planned.
But sometimes things don’t quite go as planned. In the month leading up to their wedding, Mitch dislocated his elbow while playing softball with Val on their league team. Unfortunately, as of the day of the wedding, he was just a week shy of being done with his sling. But they didn’t allow that to ruin the day!
The bridal suite buzzed with excitement, preparations of dresses, hair & makeup, and just that little bit of nervous energy. As Val sat in the chair, she answered everyone’s questions about the final details that needed to be set out for the ceremony and reception. Multi-tasking like a pro, everything was coming together.
Val got into her beautiful dress, as her bridal party, made up of her three siblings, helped to finalize the details. Helping Val with her shoes, in her own Cinderella moment, her sister carefully slid on the gold sandals chosen for this day. The last of the details included some delicate gold teardrop earrings that hung gracefully from Val’s ears. A touch-up of her lipstick, a deep breath, and Val was ready to head to the first look.
Walking from the vehicle to the first look location, Val’s excitement intensified. As she rounded a bank of trees, and Val saw Mitch waiting there for her, the chaos of the morning melted away. Val stepped out from behind the evergreen trees, the smile on her face growing with each step closer to Mitch. She walked swiftly up to him, and without any hesitation, Mitch turned to lay eyes on his beautiful bride. Each took a turn twirling for the other, allowing Mitch & Val each the opportunity to fully take in just how good they looked.
Throughout the day, Val talked about her excitement to let loose on the dance floor. They were having The New Montagues play at the reception, and everyone was so pumped for the live band experience. With the conclusion of the first dance, the dance floor was immediately packed as they kicked off the evening with the most perfect first song for this wedding: Valerie. If you wanted a word with the couple for the remainder of the night, it needed to be had on the dance floor! These two danced their hearts out with their friends & family, celebrating long into the night with an amazing band.
Mitch & Val, we are so thankful that we could capture this beautiful day for you. All of the planning resulted in the most perfect day. Even in the things that didn’t quite go to plan, you pivoted and just went with the flow, enjoying the day as it came. If we could offer you a piece of marital advice, it would be to continue to do just that. Life may throw its share of curveballs, but as long as you remain hand in hand, taking each difficulty in stride, you will always come out victorious together on the other side. We are so excited to welcome you to the married couple’s club!
xoxo
