Graduation is such an exciting time. The whole world is before you. You get to “choose your own adventure”. Blaze a new trail. So many new things to see and experience. Jessica and Shanae are at this point in their lives now. This past weekend, I was able to spend the evening with these two best friends, capturing some beautiful images of the soon to be graduates!

I have known Jessica’s mom, Janeen, for a number of years, as we previously worked together. When we started the session, she warned me that these girls are more “regularly found in leggings, with their hair in top knot” type of girls. In looking at these photos, is anyone else having a hard time believing that?! I know! I am too! Their dresses were so delicate and absolutely stunning. Even more beautiful, were the ladies who wore them. Not everyone has a photographer follow them around, so it takes some getting used to. Once they got used to us, they relaxed into just being them, and it was awesome. When people can relax and be themselves- that is when the magic happens!

When Janeen had mentioned that Shanae was coming, I was so excited- two grads, how fun! I honestly wished I had thought to do a session like that with my friends- So many laughs were shared between Shanae and her ‘second family’. Shanae even claimed one of Jessica’s sisters as her own. You can tell that Jessica and Shanae have the kind of bond that will last for years to come. It is such a blessing to have that kind of friendship this early on in your life!

Thank you so much, Jessica, Shanae, and family, for allowing us to capture this momentous occasion in your lives. It is so humbling to be able to capture special moments between family and friends. Especially those moments between mom and dad with their daughter, so precious! Jessica and Shanae, Cam and I wish you all the best as you take steps toward the next chapter of life’s journey!
