Gord & Mackenzie are TROOPERS, y’all. I don’t just mean that in a “nice to say” sorta way- they are 100% troopers. We had the chance to shoot their engagement session, but it fell on what turned out to be the windiest day of life. Wind gusts were reaching up to 120 kilometres per hour. This was the day that trees AND HOUSES were literally blown over! They braved ALL that craziness, and followed me, and my crazy light chasing ways, all over the Lumsden Valley.
This August, Gord & Mackenzie took a spontaneous trip to the Sandcastles near Beechy. First they stopped at an outlook, then drove a half kilometre to start their hike. They hadn’t been walking long before Gord grabbed Mackenzie’s hands, proclaimed his love, and proposed. After he proposed, Gord admitted he had LOST the ring somewhere, but wasn’t sure where! The moments of panic that followed, I can’t even imagine!! In shock of the proposal, and the missing ring, they frantically started searching for it- retracing their steps. At last, Mackenzie went to the driver side of the truck, looking under and between the seats, in every nook and cranny. After a second sweep through the truck door, she pushed some paper aside and FOUND THE RING! She burst into tears of happiness that the ring was now found, and she could now focus on marrying the love of her life!
Gord & Mackenzie, thank you so much for following our crazy ideas for your shoot. We walked through trees and bushes, ended up covered in burrs (thankfully only me) but you trusted our vision for your session. Cam & I enjoyed the time we got to spend with you, getting to hear about the frantic engagement, and upcoming wedding. Congratulations again, on your engagement and upcoming Regina wedding!!
xoxo
