This year has not been what we expected. It has been a year much more rich, meaningful and beautiful than we could have ever imagined it would be.

Since announcing our decision to close Cam & Courtney Photography earlier this year, we have been beyond touched by how many of you have reached out to us. The outpouring of love and genuine care that we have received from all of you has been completely overwhelming. But in the most beautiful way.

Seeing your names appear in our post comments or in our email inbox has been such a blessing. There are many of you that we haven’t seen for many years, and seeing that you are still connected to CCP after all this time was extremely humbling.

We have likened it to the feeling of when you know your favourite TV show is coming to an end. As you reach the last few episodes, you see the regular characters who have been there all along. But then there are also surprise visits from characters from years gone by, who make special guest appearances.

We saw your names, but more importantly, we got to see a lot of you. We gave hugs, we shared stories, we shared tears.

To Our Clients:

Every session this year was beautiful and also so hard. I can’t count the number of times we drove away after a session, tears in our eyes, questioning if this was the right decision. Because we don’t just love photography that much- we love YOU that much.

Thank you for inviting us into your lives. That has been something that we have never, ever taken for granted. That you chose us, above the many other options out there, to capture some of the most precious moments of your life. And then you KEPT asking us back for each new chapter.

We’ve photographed many of you since you were recently engaged younglings, all twitterpated and starry eyed, gushing with love for each other. We watched as you got married, promising forever to each other. We witnessed as you went from a couple to becoming a family, and figuring out life with new little ones. We photographed your babies, who then became big sisters or brothers. We’ve watched as your family has grown and evolved, deepening in love in ways those starry eyed younglings couldn’t have possibly imagined all those years ago.

You invited us into your homes, your traditions, your milestones, your special moments.

Thank you for letting us into your story.
 Thank you for allowing us to be your memory keepers. Thank you for letting our cameras be witnesses to your beginning.
 Thank you for allowing us cheer for you long after the wedding day was over.

Thank you for being so much more than clients, but truly dear friends.

To Our Family:

Thank you for the ways you supported our dream over these last 15 years. And honestly, thank you doesn’t quite begin to express our deepest, sincere, heart exploding gratitude. We couldn’t have done any of this without you.

Thank you for watching our children. For keeping them for sleepovers. For feeding them many meals.
 For driving them to their sporting events. For sitting in the stands and cheering loudly when we couldn’t be there. For being gracious with us when we had to miss something because we had a booking. For cheering us on when the days were long and the nights were longer. For reminding us that we were loved, even when we were exhausted, overwhelmed or unsure of ourselves.

We built this business not on our own, but because of the generous love and sacrifices that you have made with and for us along the way! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

To Our Children:

Thank you for the grace you gave us. Thank you for the childhood you shared with the world. Thank you for the moments you let us miss, even when we know it hurt. Thank you for cheering for us, for understanding us, and for loving us through the beautiful and the hard.

Thank you for being our test subjects when we were learning something new. You likely have one of the most aggressively documented childhoods around… Thank you for your help as we were loading, unloading, cleaning, prepping, etc.

Thank you for the many nights hunkered down in the basement, being on your best *quiet* behaviour as we had wedding consults in our living room.

Thank you for your patience and grace as many nights were spent “half-present” as we edited or emailed.

Thank you for believing in us and for loving us. We love you so much, Ashton, Hayden and Judah!!!

To Each Other:

We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it one more time:
 This business made us better together.

We built something hand in hand. We learned each other’s strengths, leaned into each other’s gifts, trusted each other implicitly, and held each other up through every challenge.

Thank you for being my friend, my business partner, and above all else, my spouse.

Thank you for exhibiting grace and peace when I had none left to give. Thank you for bringing the joy and life, when all I felt was stressed and exhausted. Thank you for being my companion in this beautiful journey.

I couldn’t have asked for a better person to work beside.

This may be the closing of this chapter of our journey, but I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next. CCP may be closing, but Cam & Courtney have so much left to come! I love you!
