Last week, we had a blast with the Pelletier family during their fall photo session at the Science Centre! Justin, Nicole, their son Zephyrin, and their dog Gimli brought so much energy and joy to the shoot.

As we often do at our sessions, we spent the first 10 minutes or so with Gimli included so that he could be involved too. Gimli was the friendliest pup ever, a giant teddy bear of floof! He brought all of the excitement and ensured he didn’t miss a thing before he took a little break.

Their son, Zephyrin, was full of enthusiasm from start to finish! He kept us on our toes with his playful energy, running around and laughing, but the moment that caught us off guard was when this energetic 6-year-old took a break to sit down, breathe, and meditate! This was all part of his comedic timing, but watching him calm himself down, even for a brief moment, showed another facet of his amazing personality!

We love it when families want to work with us because they’ve seen how we capture not only the posed family portraits, but the real, spontaneous moments that reflect each unique personality. The Pelletiers were such a perfect example of that. The joy they find in being together is evident in every laugh, every shared glance, and every playful moment. They weren’t afraid to let their personalities shine through, which is exactly what makes family sessions so special for us.

While we made sure to capture those timeless family portraits, it’s always the unscripted moments that tell the true story. Zephyrin’s curiosity and energy, Justin & Nicole’s love and warmth, and Gimli’s playfulness all combined to create a session that felt effortless and real. Each family member brings something unique to the session, and it is our joy to capture how they come together as a family unit. It’s these unique interactions that show just how much they enjoy each other.

We love doing family sessions around the Saskatchewan Science Centre as it provides a good variety of open space, trees, and then, of course, the ever-popular playground to wrap up our time with kiddos! It also proved a good area for Gimli to take a walk with Nicole’s mom, while we focused on the rest of the family.

The Pelletier family reminded us of why we love what we do — the opportunity to meet incredible families, share in their joy, and capture moments that they can look back on for years to come.

Thank you, Justin, Nicole, Zephyrin, and Gimli, for bringing so much fun and laughter to this session. We couldn’t have asked for a better day or better company. We hope these photos not only serve as a reflection of this chapter of your lives but also bring back memories of all the love, fun, and energy you share as a family!
