I love listening to people’s stories. Hearing about the things or people that they love most. To see that sparkle in a person’s eyes as they share their passions with you. Like all of the couples we meet with, when Cam and I met Scott & Ashley, they shared their story. We heard about how they met and fell in love. Their plans and dreams for their wedding day. Cam and I never grow tired of hearing more about people!

Engagement sessions are a time of excitement, though sometimes, they can be a time of nervousness. It seems people aren’t used to having their every move documented by their own paparazzi- go figure! Cam and I work with our couples to help them relax, and hopefully forget we’re even there. My favourite part of this engagement session, aside from getting to know more about Scott & Ashley, was getting to see them interact with one another. We took them to the Trafalgar Overlook in Wascana Park, where Scott proposed last summer. We walked to the edge of overlook, where I had Scott wrap Ashley in his arms. I asked him to repeat to her all of the things he said when he proposed. I asked Scott to do this, not for our benefit, but to remind his bride-to-be of all that he loves about her. To give them a moment to pause and reflect on how far they’ve come in nearly a year. And to look forward into what their future holds.

Scott & Ashley, we are so excited for you! Marriage is such an incredible adventure to travel with your one and only. I absolutely LOVE your declaration of love for one another: “Love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond, forever and ever.” That love is evident in the way you look at each other. In each giggle and lingering kiss. Cam and I cannot wait to celebrate your wedding at the Doubletree Regina this summer!
