Bill & Lindsay – Fall Engagement 2022

Oct 5, 2022 | Blog, Engagement

It’s funny how sometimes things just work out at the exact right time. Bill & Lindsay worked together as summer students at SaskPower. On one of his first days in this new position, Bill spotted Lindsay in the lobby. He thought to himself, “Wow, she is beautiful,” but didn’t step out to talk to her. After his summer position was done, he returned home to Calgary.

A few years went by, and Bill ended up getting a job at SaskPower, moving him back to Regina. Unbeknownst to him, he would be working closely with Lindsay’s cousin. He worked in the cubicle next to Lindsay’s cousin, and one day went over to talk to her. On her desk was a picture of herself with Lindsay. he said, “That’s her! That’s the girl from the lobby!” But alas, it was not meant to be, as Lindsay was dating someone else at that time.

On May 15, 2020, Bill moved back home to Calgary. Just five days later, on May 20, he received a Facebook friend request- from Lindsay. He thought to himself, “Oh no, does this mean I will be moving back to Regina AGAIN?!” They started chatting back and forth, and before long, it became clear that, yes, another move was in his future!

Bill & Lindsay took a trip to New Brunswick this summer. Lindsay travelled there for a work conference, and Bill joined once it was over. Together they took a few extra days to tour around PEI & New Brunswick. When Lindsay travels, she takes time to find ‘the perfect rock’ or a seashell to keep as a memento from each place she goes. She takes them home and puts them in the plants around her house. When Lindsay sets out to find ‘the perfect rock’ it can often take a fair amount of time. At one beach they visited, she searched for the right rock for over 2 hours, while Bill had a little snooze!

They were travelling with one of Bill’s friends, who had brought her baby along. They arrived at the beach on the Bay of Fundy, and Bill had pre-planned this as his spot to propose. Lindsay, who didn’t want to take too much time for the sake of the baby, quickly found a rock and told Bill that she was ready to go. “Great,” he thought, “the first time I want her to take her time and she’s done already!” He tried pointing out other rocks that might interest her more, but Lindsay just told him, “Nope, I’m good!”

In an effort to help, their friend suggested that they get a picture near the Bay of Fundy. She convinced them to go down closer to the water so she could snap a photo of them. When they got closer to the water, Lindsay came upon some seashells she hadn’t searched through, and the day was saved! She set her sights on looking for the perfect seashell. Bill walked away from her, telling her that he thought he had found her a better rock. Lindsay insisted that she was fine with the rock she had, and was now searching through seashells.

Bill once again told her, “I think I’ve found the perfect rock for you.” He was down on the ground, and Lindsay was convinced that he was ready to throw a crab skeleton at her, so didn’t want to get too close to him. Instead, she was met with a beautiful ring. It was true, Bill really did find the perfect rock!

Bill & Lindsay, we have loved the time we’ve spent getting to know you. Your shared love of salsa and bachata is so much fun, and I absolutely love that you were willing to show us all that you’ve learned together. We cannot wait to see you grow even closer over the next year as you plan the wedding!

We are so looking forward to your summer 2023 wedding!

xoxo
